Meet the artist

Cynthia I. Noel was born and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Her love of drawing and painting flourished very early in life and is self taught. Her style is inspired by the impressionists such as Manet, Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec. 

Cynthia travels extensively throughout North America and Europe, however, her work reflects a love of the Atlantic Ocean, tiny fishing villages, and colourful streetscapes.

Cynthia's open edition reproductions carry the "Crafts of Character" symbol which recognizes quality crafts, gifts and apparel made in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Cynthia's watercolour, and oil paintings have been purchased for High Commissioners, Ambassadors (India, Norway, Finland, China), Presidents of large corporations (Fortis, Proctor & Gamble, Petro Canada) and by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador through the art procurement program. During a visit to St. John’s in 2010, Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal was presented with one of her paintings. Cynthia’s paintings are in collections worldwide (Canada, U.S.A., Australia, Japan, England, South America, to name a few).
