These four houses on Temperance Street were built by Samuel Garrett, a prominent stonemason, who built Cabot Tower and the surplus stones were used to build the houses for his four daughters as wedding gifts. There is an underground tunnel that leads from house to house so the women could visit each other without having to go outside in inclement weather.

The houses are designated as Municipal Heritage Buildings.

This is a reproduction of the original watercolour painting and the framing is handcrafted by the artist.
